Daphné (1997-2007)
The first thing any woman or girl will have already noticed
before opening this page is that Daphné
is the only girl among five boys.
This does not phase her one bit.
With
her
mother's help, she runs the show! That is to say, as much as any individual can
run the show in an intense and pushy group like this household.
The photo on the left was taken in France during August 2004 when she and
Alban were visiting their dad just west of Paris during
their summer vacation. One of her numerous siblings in France is standing behind
her. This is her pick for her web page! Some of our complicated history is
here.
She
moved with her mother and Ian (a weird looking lawyer that some like to call her
step-dad) to the US in June of 1997, and is now a fully fledged adolescent FRENCH
American (it was her uncalled for comment about her favorite
stepfather!). Earlier pictures of Daphné

On the right, she was dressed to go out for St. Valentine's Day
in 2007 with her beau of the moment. This one is the
parents' picks for the photo album.
But we saw much less of her by the end of this album (2007).
Beginning at the tender age of
15, she began to have a social life based outside of the home, by which we mean girls first and
still, because chatting with her girlfriends takes an inordinate amount of time,
but also boys (less time but more stress!).
The small photo on the left, her choice again, was taken by
her then boyfriend in the summer of 2003 somewhere in downtown
Santa Cruz. The
limo, she tells us, was just passing by. The sweat shirt is from her High
School.
On the left, another parent pick, this one from
a lake in Brittany near both her grandfather's
house and where she was born. It was the summer of 2007. She and
Alban were visiting Grand-père
while their mother, Charlie and Alex were
also there on vacation.

2003. This photo again was selected by Daphné
for her web page. She graduated from
High School in 2005!!
She has her own MySpace page now, its content hidden from the
parents and other undesirables. So we can put the
photos of her we like here as well as her own choices. On the right is another
of our preferences, taken with Delora at the Hanlons
on Christmas Eve 2006.

The photo
on the left was taken during our Vancouver vacation
in April 2003.
Below, in a swimming pool
during school, late 1998. Mr. Seffinger, her
sixth grade teacher at Happy Valley School, took this
one, which is her mother's favorite. Here is another of her
in a pool, and a fun one of her on a water
ride at an English funfair.
You cannot separate Daphné
from Charlie and Alex or from her mother, Marie-Hélène. Or from
boys as a teenager, but we're not supposed to say that!!
Finally, there's a great shot of her here dressed up for Halloween.
